USB Disk PRO on Linux

I bought a 2GB USB flash drive from Low Yatt Plaza, KL last week for RM130. Cheap huh! It is a PenDrive 2GB Mini, aka USB Disk Pro. The difference from normal USB Disk is that it has extra security features. On Windows, it works perfectly fine. But on Linux, it just refused to mount (tested on Ubuntu Edgy Knot 3). After googling for about 2 days, I found the added security causing the problem.

Alan from rowland.harvard.edu pointed to me that I need to disable the software lock based on this

Will test it tonight and post the result tomorrow.

Unfortunately, PenDrive does not have the utility to resize the 1.44MB partition. So, I'm stuck, unless I use 3rd party tools to do that.

Tried (on Windows as Administrator) patriotmemory partition tool, but it is not usable on PenDrive. Different firmware I guessed.

Maybe your linuxbox can see the two devices, but has mounted just one.

try to mount (manually at command line) some other devices.

Try to do
ls -al /dev/sd?1
and try to mount all you can see.

If your usb pen has a switch to select between lock and unlock writing protection, try with the switch in both position

I did tried to mount the partition individually and all at once but both failed.

PenDrive finally released an utility to format 1.44MB partition. I have to asked this utility personally. Formatted the USB disk into single partition and Ubuntu happily mount it.
